Introduction
This is a fundraising classic chess event to help improve our already beloved high street chess venue with a soundproof shutter
This will help ensure that chess remains at the heart of the chess community of Eccles for years to come.
How it works
There will be two classic FIDE/ECF games. Time control - 80 minutes plus 15 second increments.
Please enter early. The event is restricted to 120 players: Once it's full it's full!
Doors open - 10.20am
Round 1 - 11am
Round 2 - 3pm

Rating limit 2400. Pairings will be undertaken using Swiss Manager. Live boards.

For each game you play you will be automatically entered into the prize draw as part of the Eccles Chess Community fundraising initiative.
Players will be given a bespoke notation pen as a thank you for taking part in this Fundraising Chess Event.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- All players must be ECF Gold members. Please register on the ECF website if not already a member. ECF Web Site
- All boards in all sections will play using digital clocks at a rate of 80 minutes and 15 seconds added per move.
- The January 2026 ECF Rating List will be used to determine a player's rating.
- There are plenty of nearby car parking facilities at the venue. On street parking can also be found nearby. https://ecclestownhall.org/directions/
- Eccles Interchange (Metrolink and bus) and Eccles railway station are both very short walks from the venue.
- Light refreshments will be on sale at the venue. There are also many nearby eateries.
- Due to the viewing gallery players must be aged 12 years or over. (Arbiters discretion)
- Pairings will be undertaken using Swiss Manager. These pairings and results will be displayed in the playing area and on the ChessResults website.
- Drinks and snacks on sale from the cafe. Bringing your own food into the playing area is not permitted.
- The controllers' decision is final in all disputes.
- All electronic communication devices (phone, tablet, smartwatch etc) must be switched off in the playing area. This includes spectators. Medical exemptions must be discussed with the chief arbiter before the start of the round.
